  • FPS – first person shooter
  • Server – where players connect so that they can play other players online
  • Game client – Some games require you to install a game client that manages updates and gives information from the company. Information can be about the game but often it will be used as an opportunity for advertising from the company.
  • MMOG – massively multiplayer online game
  • MMPORG – massively multiplayer online role playing game
  • GG – good game. Something a player is always looking for.
  • Bot – computer generated character
  • Loot – items/ currency dropped or found in game
  • Mob – non player characters e.g. monsters, enemy units
  • Spawn – where players or mobs start/ appear in the game
  • Camping – when a player stays in a place that makes the game easier
  • Microtransactions – buyable extras that enhance a game or allow the player to continue playing.
  • Noob – derogatory term for someone who is new or not very good.
  • Battle Royale – Many players fight it out until last person/ team standing
  • Realm – Minecraft’s own servers that you subscribe to.
  • Teamspeak – Software that allows chat to friends. Similar to Discord
  • Discord – Software that allows chat to friends. Similar to Teamspeak
